Safety symbols on the battery |
1. - | When handling the battery do not expose it to flames or sparks; smoking is prohibited. Avoid sparks when handling cables or electric equipment or sparks caused by electric discharge. Avoid short circuits. For this reason no tool should ever be left on the battery. |
2. - | Always use eye protection when handling the battery. |
3. - | Keep children well away from the battery and the electrolyte |
4. - | Disposal: Used batteries are considered as special waste. They must only be disposed of in adequate collection centres and in accordance with the law. |
5. - | Never put used batteries into domestic rubbish containers. |
6. - | There is a danger of an explosion when working with batteries. When charging, a highly explosive mix of gases is produced. |
7. - | The warning notes on the battery, the repair manual instructions for the "Electric system, general information" found in ELSA and the battery instructions manual must be observed at all times. |
8. - | Danger of acid burns: Electrolyte is highly corrosive; protective gloves and goggles must therefore always to be worn. Never tip the battery over, electrolyte may spill out of the gas release openings. |
