Locations for dash panel insert senders and sensors   Warning When batteries are disconnected and reconnected, the procedure described in the workshop manual must be strictly observed → Electrical System; Rep. Gr.27.

2 -	Fuel gauge sender -G-

5 -	Oil temperature sender -G8-

q	Location for 2.0 l Simos and 1.8 l Motronic → Fig.

q	Location for 2.8 l Motronic → Fig.

q	Location for 1.9 l TDI → Fig.

q	Location for 1.9 l TDI with unit injectors → Fig.

q	Monitored via self-diagnosis.

6 -	Coolant temperature sender -G2-

q	Location varies depending on engine: diesel engine → Rep. Gr.23, petrol engine → Rep. Gr.24

q	Monitored via self-diagnosis.

Fuel gauge sender -G- Thefuel gauge sender -G- is located in the fuel tank on the fuel pump unit -arrow-. Removing and installing fuel delivery unit → Rep. Gr.20.

Ambient temperature sender -G17- The ambient temperature sender -G17- is located on right of front lock carrier below radiator grille -arrow-. To remove sender, remove radiator grille and trim frame → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.63.

Speedometer sender -G22- on vehicles with manual gearbox The speedometer sender -arrow- is installed in the area of the right-hand drive shaft flange on vehicles with a manual gearbox.

Speedometer sender -G22- on vehicles with automatic gearbox The speedometer sender -G22--arrow- is installed in the area of the right-hand drive shaft flange on vehicles with an automatic gearbox.

Oil temperature sender -G8- for 2.0 l Simos and 1.8 l Motronic The oil temperature sender -arrow- is located in the oil filter bracket.   Note! In variance to the illustration the oil temperature sender -G8- for 1.8 l Motronic is located on the side of oil filter bracket.

Oil temperature sender -G8- for 2.8 l Motronic The oil temperature sender -G8--arrow- is installed in the oil filter bracket.

Oil temperature sender -G8- for 1.9 l direct injection turbo-diesel The oil temperature sender -G8--arrow- is installed in the oil filter bracket.

Oil temperature sender -G8- for 1.9 l turbo-diesel with unit injectors The oil temperature sender -G8--arrow- is installed in the sump.
