From 04/2003, radio equipment will no longer use the extractable key pad as an anti-theft device.
   
All radios have anti-theft protection or security by extraction of the keyboard -arrows-, plus additional electronic security with a numerical code and in the feed connector by a switch.
The electronic anti-theft function activates and blocks the radio unit every time that:
t  The voltage supply (terminal 30) drops below a predetermined value
t  The radio fuse blows

t  The radio unit is separated from the voltage supply (terminal 30) (e.g. while removing the radio)
t  When the battery is removed (terminal 30) to work on the vehicle.
When the radio is blocked by the electronic anti-theft function, the message “SAFE” appears in the radio display when it is connected.
