| Brake filling and bleeding device, e. g. -VAS 5234- |
It is only necessary to carry out the basic setting if at least one chamber of the brake fluid reservoir has run completely empty, or after completing repairs to the brake system because of leaks. |
Perform basic setting using the vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system -VAS 505x- |
Perform basic setting using the vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- |

| Operate the vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- by referring to the read-out on the display: |

| When performing the basic setting, the brake filling and bleeding device, e.g. -VAS 5234-, must always be operative. Do not separate! |
WARNING When replenishing brake fluid with a brake filling and bleeding appliance, it is important to ensure a minimum filling pressure of 0.2 MPa (2 bar). |

If the filling pressure of 2 MPa (2 bar) is not reached, proper bleeding of the hydraulic unit is no longer assured. |

| Connect brake filling and bleeding device, e. g. -VAS 5234-. |

| Connect up vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- and enter the control unit for brake electronics with the ignition switched on (address word 03) → Chapter. |
