Removing and installing piston for brake caliper of the FS-III brake at the front
Removing and installing piston for brake caliper of the FS-III brake at the front
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Piston jig -MP9-403-
t  Disassembly wedge -3409-
t  Lithium grease -G 052 150 A2-
Removing:
   
–  Insert wooden plate to avoid damaging the piston as it is being pressed out.
–  Press the piston out of the brake caliper housing using compressed air -arrow-.
  Note
Make sure that the cylinder surface is not damaged when removing the gasket ring.
  S47-0051
–  Remove gasket ring with disassembly wedge -3409-.
Installing:
–  Clean piston and gasket ring with white spirits and dry off.
–  Before installing the piston and gasket ring in the brake caliper housing thinly coat with lithium grease -G 052 150 A2-.
–  Insert new gasket ring in the groove of the brake caliper.
  S47-0031
–  Position the new protective cap with the outer sealing lip on the piston.
  S47-0032
–  Insert inner sealing lip of the protective cap with disassembly wedge -3409- in the groove of the cylinder.
   To do so hold the piston with the hand.
  S47-0033
–  Press the piston into the brake caliper housing using the piston resetting jig -MP9-403-.
  Note
The outer sealing lip of the protective cap will engage in the piston groove.
