Testing the wiring
Testing the wiring
–  Connect test box -V.A.G 1598/31 - to the wiring loom on the engine control unit → Chapter.
–  Check the following wires for interruption or short-circuit to earth or positive:
   
6-pin plug on wiring loom, contactTest box -V.A.G 1598/31-, bush

–  Also check the wires for short-circuits.
–  If necessary eliminate wire interruption or short-circuit.
If the lines are not found to be faulty:
–  Replace accelerator pedal with accelerator pedal position senders → 1.0/37; 1.4/44; 1.4/50 Engine - Mechanical Components; Rep. Gr.20.
