Safety measures
  WARNING
The fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system lay cleaning cloths around the connection point. Then release pressure by carefully opening.
Observe the following points to prevent injury to persons and/or damage to the injection and ignition system:
t  For reasons of safety fuse no. 40 must be removed from the fuse holder before opening the fuel system, as the door contact switch could activate the fuel pump.
t  Do not touch or remove ignition leads with the engine running or at start speed.
t  Ignition must be switched off before disconnecting and re-connecting the cables of the fuel injection and the ignition system as well as of the test equipment.
If test and measuring devices are required during test drives observe the following:
t  Always secure the test and measuring devices on the rear seat and also have a second person operate them there.
If the test and measuring devices are operated from the passenger seat, the passenger could be injured by the release of the passenger airbag in the event of an accident.
t  If the engine must be operated at start speed without the engine starting:
For engines with engine identification characters AUA, AUB
   
–  Unplug the 4-pin connector -arrow- from the ignition transformer.
For engines with engine identification characters BBY, BKY, BBZ, BUD
–  Slightly pull out all the ignition coils with the extractor -T 10094 A- and disconnect the plug connections → Chapter.
For all vehicles
  S28-0147
–  Unplug connector -arrows- of the injectors.
