Inspecting the exhaust system for leaktightness
Inspecting the exhaust system for leaktightness
–  Start engine and run in idle.
–  Seal off exhaust tailpipe for the test duration with suitable plug.
–  Inspect connection points for leaktightness by listening: cylinder head/exhaust manifold, exhaust turbocharger/pre-exhaust pipe with catalytic converter, double clamp at middle or also at rear part of exhaust system.
–  Rectify any fault found.
