| The readiness code is an 8-digit numerical code that provides information on the status of the emission-relevant diagnosis. |
| If the diagnosis is performed for a system, the corresponding digit of the numerical code switches from 1 to 0. |
| This diagnosis is performed at regular intervals during normal driving. If repairs have been done on a system relevant for the exhaust gas it is recommended to generate the readiness code as this guarantees that the systems operate according to the specifications. If a fault is detected during the diagnosis it is entered in the fault memory. |
| The readiness code is erased if the fault memory is erased or if there is an interruption to the voltage supply. |
