Fault table, fault codes 16485...17606
Fault table, fault codes 16485...17606
  Note
t  The fault table is arranged according to the 5-digit fault code on the left.
t  Faults related to the electronic throttle are indicated on the dash panel insert by the fault lamp for the electronic accelerator control “EPC warning lamp”).
t  The SAE code which is displayed on the right next to the fault code (e.g. P0107) can be ignored (at present only valid for USA).
t  Explanations regarding fault types (e.g. “open circuit or short-circuit to earth”) ⇒Operating instructions for the vehicle system tester.
t  If parts are output as faulty: First of all, test all the cables and plug connections to these components as well as the earth cables of the system according to the current flow diagram. Replace the component only if this test does not reveal any fault. This applies in particular if the fault is shown as sporadic (SP).
t  When testing senders and other components of the fuel injection system and when testing electric cables, proceed according to appropriate current flow diagram → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
  Note
t  16486 = Fault denomination
t  P0113 = next fault code (at present only applicable for USA)
t  035 = fault type as number
t  air mass meter -G70- = current path or fault point defective
t  Signal too small = designate fault type with text
t  “SP” sporadically occurring fault = fault which does not occur often, e.g. a loose contact
