Replacing gasket ring for right flange shaft in separated version

Replace gasket ring in separated version for right flange shaft
Replace gasket ring in separated version for right flange shaft
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan
t  Pressure plate -T10160-
t  Assembly device -MP 6-414-
t  Torque wrench
t  Sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-
Removing
–  Remove noise insulation → Chapter.
–  Turn steering to full right lock.
   
–  If applicable remove cap for drive shaft from the engine.
–  Unscrew the drive shaft from the flange shaft.
–  Tie up the drive shaft as far as possible. Avoid damaging the paintwork on the drive shaft during this operation.
–  Position the catch pan under the gearbox and the engine.
–  Unscrew oil return line for exhaust turbocharger from engine → Engine; Rep. Gr.21.

–  Unscrew the fixing screw for the flange shaft, to this end insert two screws in the flange and using a tyre iron hold the shaft.
–  Remove the flange shaft with pressure spring.

–  Lever out gasket ring using a screwdriver -A-, to do so support the screwdriver on a suitable base (e. g. assembly device -MP 6-414-)
  Note
t  Do not damage the bushing as this will cause leaks.
t  replace bushing if damaged → Chapter.
Install
  S39-0279
–  Drive the new seal ring in up to the stop, do not twist the seal ring.
–  Fill half the space between the sealing lips and dust lips with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
–  Insert the flange shaft.
–  Secure the flange shaft with the conical screw.
–  If the oil return line for turbocharger was unscrewed at engine, install it again → Engine; Rep. Gr.21.
–  Bolt drive shaft to flange shaft → Chassis; Rep. Gr.40.

–  If necessary screw on cap for drive shaft.
–  Check gear oil level, if necessary pour in up to lower edge of filler hole → Chapter.
–  Install the noise insulation.

Tightening torque
Flange shaft on gearbox (conical screw) → Chapter
Protective cap drive shaft on engine → Chapter
Drive shaft to flange shaft → Chassis; Rep. Gr.40
