Setting the shift mechanism
Setting the shift mechanism
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Rig pin -T10027 A-
  Note
t  The following are required for correct setting of the shift mechanism:
t  Operating and transmission elements of the shift mechanism are in perfect condition.
t  Shift mechanism operates freely.
t  Gearbox, clutch and clutch control in perfect condition.
l  Gearbox in Neutral.
   
–  Pull forward the locking mechanism at shift cable and at selector cable as far as the stop -arrow 1-, then lock by turning to the left -arrow 2-.
Fix the gearshift shaft as follows:
  S34-0479
–  Press the gearshift shaft down -arrow 1-.
–  When pressing down the gearshift shaft, press the angle lever -A- slightly towards the gearshift shaft and then turn the angle lever in -the direction of arrow 2-

–  Lever the collar out of the surround of centre console -arrows-.
–  Guide shift lever in Neutral to the left into the 1st/2nd gear gate.

–  Insert rig pin -T10027 A - through hole -A- into hole -B-.

–  Now turn the locking mechanism at the shift cable and at the selector cable to the right as far as the stop -direction of arrow 1-.
The spring pushes the locking mechanism into the initial position -arrow2-.

–  Now turn the angle lever -A- back to the initial position -direction of arrow-.
  S34-0481
–  Pull rig pin - T10027 A- out of hole -A- and -B-.
–  Fit collar into the surround for centre console.
