Removing and installing coolant pump
Removing and installing coolant pump
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208-
t  Pliers for spring strap clamps
Removing
  Note
t  Always replace seals and gasket rings.
t  Cover the toothed belt with a cloth before removing the coolant pump in oder to protect it from the coolant.
   
–  Remove noise insulation -arrows-.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Removing toothed belt → Chapter.

–  Unscrew the fixing screws -1- of the coolant pump -2- and carefully remove the coolant pump.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Clean sealing surface for O-ring.
  N19-0234
–  Moisten new O-ring -3- with coolant and fit onto coolant pump.
–  Position the coolant pump -2- in the cylinder block and tighten the fixing screws -1-.
   Tightening torque: 15 Nm
  Note
Plugs of coolant pump point down.
–  Install timing belt and tension → Chapter.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
