Removing and installing combination valve
Removing and installing combination valve
  Note
t  Always replace all seals and gasket rings.
t  The assistance of a second mechanic is required for the installation.
Removing
   
–  Pull out oil dipstick -1-.
–  Release the nut -2-.
–  Remove engine cover -3- in -direction of arrow-.

–  Remove intake hose -1--arrows-.
The ventilation hose -2- remains connected.
–  Detach pressure and vacuum hose from combination valve.
–  Slacken top union nut at connection pipe guided from the secondary air pump to the combination valve.
–  Remove protective cap for inner constant velocity joint of drive shaft from engine.
–  Unscrew connection pipe from the exhaust manifold.
–  Unscrew combination valve with joint insert.
Install
–  Fit the fixing screw through the heat shield from below with an auxiliary tool.
–  Hold the screw tight from above (the assistance of a 2nd mechanic is required).
–  Insert 5 mm hexagon socket with joint insert into the screw head.
–  Position the combination valve from above (the assistance of a 2nd mechanic is required) and tighten the fixing screws to 10 Nm.
Further installation occurs in reverse order.
