Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Remote control, e.g. -V.A.G 1348/3A-
t  Adapter cable, e.g. -V.A.G 1348/3-2-
t  Measuring tool set, e.g. -V.A.G 1594 C-
t  Measuring glasses, e.g. -V.A.G 1602-
   
l  Remove fuse No. 61.
Test preparation
–  Remove the fuel distributor together with the injection valves from the bottom part of the intake manifold → Chapter.
  Note
t  The fuel hoses remain connected.
t  The injection valves remain stuck in the fuel distributor.
–  Connect the remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- with adapter -V.A.G 1348/3-2- between contact -61a- of the line to the fuel pump (de-energized) and to battery positive (+).
  Note
t  The fuel pump will run after operating the remote control.
t  This step is only intended to ensure that the fuel pump runs when the engine is switched off.
