Summary of components of lock carrier with attached parts
1 - Lock carrier
Removing:
–  Removing front bumper → Chapter.
–  Remove front headlights → Electrical System → Rep. gr.94.
–  Removing front bumper bracket (Pos. 4) → Chapter.
–  Separating Bowden wire for bonnet release at tailgate lock → Chapter.
–  Separate the air guide → Engine → Rep. gr.23.
–  Remove air current converter (Pos. 8) for radiator (only TDI engines).
–  Loosen cable harness for lock switch from the plastic clips.
–  Remove fixing screws (Pos. 3) for radiator/condenser.
–  Slacken radiator and condenser from lock carrier.
–  Remove both screws (Pos. 2) from the top.
–  Secure the radiator and the condenser in the engine compartment.
–  Slide the lock carrier forwards.
  Note
t  Do not suspend the condenser to the wires.
t  Do not fold the condenser wires.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
2 - 20 Nm
3 - 5 Nm
4 - Front bumper bracket
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
5 - 9 Nm
6 - Metallic impact absorber
7 - 2.5 Nm
8 - Air current converter for radiator
