Checking the non-return valve > < Removing and installing master brake cylinder

t  Hose clamp -MP7-602 (3094)-
t  Release tool -T10159A-
t  Vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system -VAS-
t  Brake filling and bleeding device, e. g. -VAS 5234-
t  Extraction bottle (commercially available)
t  Repair kit SP-No. 1H0 698 311 A
t  Brake fluid → Chapter
Removing:
–  Remove master brake cylinder → Chapter.
Vehicles without air conditioning
–  Removing the left footwell vent → Heating, Air Conditioning; Rep. gr.80.
For vehicles with air conditioning
–  Removing the left footwell vent → Heating, Air Conditioning; Rep. gr.87.
Vehicles with Convenience system central control unit -J393-
–  Removing the convenience system central control unit -J393- → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
For vehicles up to MY 2010
–  Remove brake light switch → Chapter.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Separating the brake pedal from the brake servo unit → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew the nuts for brake servo unit -arrows-.
–  Guide the brake servo unit with master brake cylinder towards the front.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
–  Clip the brake pedal onto the brake servo unit → Chapter.
For vehicles up to MY 2010
–  Install and set the brake light switch → Chapter.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Fill up with new brake fluid.
–  Install the battery tray and battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Connect battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Bleed clutch → Gearbox; Rep. gr.30.
–  Install air filter → Engine; Rep. gr.24 (petrol engines) or → Engine; Rep. gr.23 (diesel engines).
–  Install engine cover → engine; Rep. gr.10.

Tightening torques:
Brake servo unit to foot controls
t  Use new nuts!
20 Nm
Brake lines to master brake cylinder14 Nm
