t  If considerable quantities of metal swarf or abrasion (caused by rubbing damage such as damage to the crankshaft and conrod bearings) is found in the engine when carrying out engine repairs, it is necessary to determine the cause of the rubbing damage and replace the damaged parts, then carefully clean the oil galleries in order to avoid consequential damage.
t  The oil level must lie between the markings and not be above the max. marking - risk of damage to catalytic converter!
Check the engine oil, amount of oil, oil specification
→ Roomster
1 - 0.045 MPa (0.45 bar) oil pressure switch -F1-, 25 Nm
q   green insulation
q   check → Chapter
q   Cut open gasket ring if leaking and replace
2 - Dowel sleeves
3 - Oil pump
q   with the overpressure valve
q   removing and installing → Chapter
4 - 24 Nm
5 - Oil pan
q   clean sealing surface before installing
q   efore installing, coat with silicone sealant -D 176 600 A1 - → Chapter
6 - 9 Nm
7 - Sealing ring
q   replace
8 - Drain plug, 30 Nm
9 - 8 Nm
10 - Cover
q   for oil pump chain
11 - 20 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
q   replace
12 - Oil pump sprocket
q   Check fitting position
13 - Oil pump chain
14 - Chain tensioner for the oil pump drive
15 - Guide bolt, 15 Nm
q   for chain tensioner for the oil pump drive
16 - Chain sprocket on the crankshaft for the oil pump drive
q   not interlocked on the crankshaft
17 - O-ring
q   replace if damaged
18 - Housing
q   replace together with O-ring; Pos. 17
q   fit onto cleaned crankshaft
q   install only after putting the timing gear cover in place otherwise the gasket ring can be damaged
19 - Sealing ring
q   replace if damaged → Chapter
q   replace together with housing; Pos. 18
q   for crankshaft on the belt pulley side
q   Neither grease nor oil sealing lip of sealing ring
q   before installing remove grease residue on the housing with a clean cloth
20 - Belt pulley - crankshaft
21 - 90 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
q   replace
q   Interlock the crankshaft with assembly device -T10121- for removing and installing → Chapter
22 - O-ring
q   replace if damaged
23 - Oil level and oil temperature sender - G266-
q   only for vehicles with WIV
q   check → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations
24 - Guide tube
25 - Dipstick
q   the oil level must not be above the “max” marking!
q   Inspecting engine oil level → Roomster
26 - Sealing ring
q   replace if damaged
27 - Timing gear cover
q   removing and installing → Chapter
28 - Oil filter
q   removing and installing oil filter insert → Chapter
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
29 - 24 Nm
