Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Sealant remover gasket stripper (bearing code GST, bearing article no. R 34402), manufacturer Retech s.r.o.
t  Cleaning and degreasing agent, e.g. -D 009 401 04-
t  Protective goggles and gloves
t  Sealant -AMV 174 004 01-
–  Remove engine cover → Chapter.
   
–  Remove charge-air pipe at the top -1- with connecting hose -2--arrows-.
  Note
Coolant hoses as well as fuel lines remain connected.
–  Detach hose to crankcase ventilation from charge air pipe.
–  Remove top toothed belt guard, to do so release retaining clips.

–  Release the screws for the cylinder head cover in the sequence -11 ... 1- and remove the cover.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
  WARNING
Wear protective gloves and goggles when working with gasket remover and degreasing agent!
–  Clear sealing surface on the cylinder head cover and on the cylinder head from sealant residues with chemical sealant remover.
–  Degrease the sealing surfaces.

–  Apply on both edges on the sealing surfaces of the bearing cap/cylinder head -arrows- at front ...
  S15-0452
–  … and apply at rear with a small amount of (Ø approx. 5 mm) sealant -AMV 174 004 01--arrows-.
  Note
Replace the gasket as well as the screws for the cylinder head cover in case of damage.

–  Tighten the screws for the cylinder head cover in the sequence -1 ... 11- to 10 Nm.
