Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Adapter, e.g. -VAS 6551/5-2-
Test condition
l  The tests on the low-pressure side of the fuel line were carried out and no complaints arose.
l  The fuel tank is filled with clean fuel according to the valid standards.
l  The starter is operated at a starter speed of ≥ 230 rpm.
Work procedure
  Note
t  Safety precautions when working on the fuel supply system → Chapter.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
   
–  Detach the fuel return-flow line -2- from the high pressure pump.
–  Connect the adapter -VAS 6551/5-2- with the drain of the high pressure pump.

–  Hold the adapter -VAS 6551/5-2- in a suitable vessel in order to check the return flow quantity.
Measure at a starter speed of ≥ 230 rpm.

–  Disconnect plug at fuel dosage valve -N290--A-.
If the return flow quantity was measured, proceed with the test of the parts at the fuel distributor:
t  Check fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- → Chapter.
t  Check fuel pressure sender -G247- → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
If no return flow quantity was measured, replace the high pressure pump:
t  Fabia II, Roomster, Rapid → Chapter.
t  Octavia II, Superb II, Yeti → Chapter.
