General description
Vehicles manufactured up to CW 12.2010 are fitted with the immobiliser of the third generation.
The immobiliser consists of three components:
t  Immobiliser control unit -J362-
t  Engine control unit -J623- (diesel engines → Engine; Rep. gr.23 or petrol engines → Engine; Rep. gr.24)
t  Ignition key (ignition key and immobilizer reading coil -D2- form one component).
  Note
If two of these components are replaced, the third one must be replaced as well.

Fault recognition and fault display
The immobiliser is equipped with self-diagnosis, which facilitates the fault finding.
For fault finding use the → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the operating mode „Targeted fault finding“.
