Code the data bus diagnostic interfaceJ533 (Gateway).
Code the data bus diagnostic interface -J533- (Gateway).
General description
Only installed separately in vehicles with the start-stop system. On other vehicles, integrated in the vehicle voltage control unit -J519-.
The data bus diagnostic interface -J533- serves to link different systems of the CAN data bus in the vehicle. It transmits data e.g. from the engine control unit (CAN bus drive) to the dash panel insert (dash panel insert CAN bus).
The data bus diagnostic interface -J533- is monitored by the self-diagnosis and can be tested with the → Vehicle diagnostic tester.

Removing
  Note
t  If the data bus diagnostic interface -J533- (Gateway) is replaced, connect → Vehicle diagnostic tester before the removal and select the function „Replace data bus diagnostic interface“ in the targeted fault finding for reading the codes stored in the control unit.
t  If the original data bus diagnostic interface -J533- (Gateway) is not available or does not communicate with the diagnostic unit, then proceed according to the information in the → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
The data bus diagnostic interface -J533- is located behind the left footwell vent (for left-hand and right-hand drives).
–  Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
–  Remove the damping trim panel below the left dash panel.
   
–  Release screw -4- (1.5 Nm) and remove left footwell vent -3-.

–  Unplug connector -4-.
–  Release retaining clips -1- and -6-. To do so, press the retaining clips towards each other -arrows-.
–  Unhook the retaining lug -2- from the bracket -3- and remove the data bus diagnostic interface -J533- Pos. -5-.
Install
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
