¹⁾	Only perform when ignition switched on and if engine does not start (operate starter for at least 6 seconds).

Meaning of the EPC warning lamp (fault lamp for electric accelerator control) in the dash panel insert

“EPC” is the abbreviation of Electronic Power Control.

Fitting location of the EPC warning lamp

After switching on the ignition the engine control unit checks all the components that are relevant to the operation of the EPC.

Inspect proper operation

–	Swithc on the ignition, the EPC warning lamp must light up.

If the EPC warning lamp does not light up when the ignition is switched on:

–	Test dash panel insert → Electrical System; Rep. Gr.90.

If the EPC warning lamp lights up when the ignition is switched on:

–	Start engine and run in idle.

If the EPC warning lamp does not go out:

–	Interrogate the fault memory of engine control unit → Chapter.
