The stored faults are displayed in sequence.
   
Readout on display:
–  Select function 05“Erase fault memory” and confirm with Q.
  Note
The fault memory is not erased if the ignition is switched off between “Interrogating the fault memory” and “Erasing the fault memory”.

Readout on display:
–  Select function 06 “End output” and confirm the entry with Q.
–  Rectify the faults displayed by referring to the fault table → Chapters 01-2 and 01-3.
–  Once the fault has been corrected perform a test drive.
  Note
Pay attention to safety precautions for a test drive → Chapter 24-1.
During the test drive the following operating conditions must be fulfilled:
t  The coolant temperature should rise beyond 80°C.
t  The following operating conditions must be reached a number of times once the desired temperature has been reached:
   Idling speed
partial load
enrichment
full load
trailing throttle
t  In the case of “full load” the engine speed should be increased beyond 3500 rpm.
–  Interrogate the fault memory on the engine control unit again.
