Analysis: Display group 001, display field 1 - engine speed (idling speed)
   
Analysis: Display group 001, display field 1 - engine speed (idling speed)
Display -V.A.G 1552-Possible cause of faultRectifying fault 
less than 640 rpm
t  Throttle valve control unit jams/defective
–  Test throttle valve control unit → Chapter 24-5.
–  inspecting idling speed → Chapter 24-3.
 
greater than 900 rpm
t  Idling not detected
t  Large quantity of unmetered air between intake manifold and air mass meter
t  Throttle valve control unit jams/defective
–  Interrogate fault memory → Chapter 01-1.
–  Inspecting air intake system for tightness (unmetered air) → Chapter 24-2.
–  Test throttle valve control unit → Chapter 24-5.
–  inspecting idling speed → Chapter 24-3.
