Check for proper operation
Check for proper operation
–  Check display groups 030, 032, 033 and 041 → Chap. 01-5 and → Chap. 01-6.
If the specified values are not reached:
–  Test resistance of heating element between the contacts 3 + 4, voltage supply for heater and cables to -Z19- → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations
  Note
Heating element resistance approx. 2.5...10 Ω at 20°C.
If the specified resistance is reached and the voltage supply for heater and cables to -Z19- are o.k.
–  Switch on ignition.

–  Use handheld multimeter to measure voltage between the contacts 1 and 5 of connector at the wiring loom.
Specified value: 0.400...0.500 V.
–  Switch off ignition.
If the specified values are reached:
–  Replace lambda probe -G39-.
If the specified values are not reached:
–  Test cables to lambda probe -G39- → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
If the wiring is O.K., replace engine control unit → Chap. 24-4.
