Removing and installing turbocharger > < Connecting diagram for charge pressure control
Check operation of vacuum unit for charge pressure control
Check operation of vacuum unit for charge pressure control
Check charge air pressure system → 1.9l/81 kW(TDI) Engine, Fuel Injection and Glow Plug System, Rep. Gr. 23.
Test sequence
–  Remove the noise insulation.
–  Remove the vacuum hose from the turbocharger vacuum unit.
   
–  Connect the hand vacuum pump e. g. -V.A.G 1390- to the vacuum unit
–  Actuate the hand vacuum pump and observe if the actuator rod for the charge air pressure regulating valve moves.
If the actuator rod for the charge air pressure regulating valve does not move, the exhaust turbocharger must be replaced → Chapter.
