Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3, 3A, 3B oder 3C-
t  Handheld multimeter, e.g. -V.A.G 1526A-
t  Test box -V.A.G 1598/22-
Test sequence
If the sender should be removed:
   
–  Mount pulley in displayed position.
–  Install sender with pre-assembled pulley.
–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- → Chapter.
–  Select function 08 “Read measured value block” and display group 002, ignition switched on, engine stoppage.

–  Check display in display field 2 (accelerator position position), do not depress the pedal.
Specified value: 0,0 %
–  Check display in display field 3 (idle switch).
Specified value: 0 1 0
–  Slowly press the accelerator pedal down.
  
Reading measured value block 2     ->
0 rpm     0,0 %     0 1 0      18,4 °C
Specified value: Display value in the display field 2 must increase constantly to 100% (when accelerator fully depressed)
The accelerator pedal must reach the full load limit at 100%.
–  Check display in display field 3 (idle switch).
Specified value: 0 0 0
If the nominal value or the full load limit is not reached:
–  Turn the sender in the elongated holes of the pedal frame.
If the respective displays do not change or only partially:
–  Check accelerator pedal position sender -G79- → Chapter.
  
Reading measured value block 2     ->
0 rpm     100,0 %     0 0 0      18,4 °C
