Testing voltage supply for engine control unit
Testing voltage supply for engine control unit
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3, 3A, 3B oder 3C-
t  Test box -V.A.G 1598/22- or - V.A.G 1598/31-
t  Handheld multimeter, e.g. -V.A.G 1526A-
t  Measuring tool set, e.g. -V.A.G 1594A-
Test conditions
   
l  Fuses 10 and 29 must be o.k.
l  Battery voltage at least 11.5 V.
l  All electrical consumers such as the lights and rear window heater must be switched off.
l  If vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, this must be switched off.
l  On vehicles with an automatic gearbox the selector lever must be in position “P” or “N”.
l  Generator o.k., test → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
