Removing and installing parts of the injection system
For engines with identification characters AEG, APK, AQY, AZH
1 - Top part of intake manifold
2 - from activated charcoal filter solenoid valve -N80-
q   Activated charcoal filter → 2.0 ltr./85 kW Engine, Mechanics → Rep. Gr.20
3 - Connector
q   for engines with engine identification characters AEG, APK, AQY - 52-pin
q   for engines with identification characters AZH - 81-pin
q   insert and remove plug when the ignition is switched off
q   unlock for removing
4 - Engine control unit -J220-*
q   Fitting location: in plenum chamber
q   Checking voltage supply → Chapter
q   Procedure if voltage interrupted → Chapter
q   replace → Chapter
5 - Connector
q   for engines with engine identification characters AEG, APK, AQY - 28-pin
q   for engines with identification characters AZH - 40-pin
q   insert and remove plug when the ignition is switched off
q   unlock for removing
6 - Secondary air injection valve -N112 -
q   only engines with identification characters AQY, AZH ? 07.2000
7 - Air filter
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
8 - 10 Nm
9 - to air guide pipe
q   to injectors with air ring
10 - Air intake hose
q   only engines with identification characters AQY, AZH
q   to secondary air pump -V101 -
11 - 6 Nm
12 - Connector
q   4-pin
q   to coolant temperature sender - G62-
13 - Coolant temperature sender -G62 -*
q   with coolant temperature gauge sensor -G2-
q   before removing, reduce pressure in cooling system if necessary
q   resistances → Fig.
14 - Retaining clip
q   check tightness
15 - 3-pin connector
q   grey
q   for engine speed sender -G28 -
16 - O-ring
q   replace if damaged
17 - Engine speed sender -G28-*
q   resistance between contacts 480...1000 Ω
18 - Lambda probe after catalyst -G130 -*, 50 Nm
q   Fitting location: in exhaust pipe downstream of catalytic converter
q   only engines with identification characters AQY, AZH
q   Testing lambda probe and lambda control downstream of catalytic converter → Chapter
19 - Plug connection for lambda probe downstream of catalytic converter
q   only engines with identification characters AQY, AZH
q   4-pin
q   Brown
q   for lambda probe downstream of catalytic converter -G130- and lambda probe heater downstream of catalytic converter -Z29-
q   Fitting location → Item
20 - Lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter -G39-*, 50 Nm
q   Fitting location: in the exhaust manifold
q   coat only thread with hot bolt paste - G 052 112 A3-; the hot bolt paste must not get into the slots of the probe body
q   Power supply of probe heating via fuel pump relay -J17-
q   Testing lambda probe and lambda control upstream of catalytic converter → Chapter
q   Check lambda probe ageing before catalyst → Chapter
21 - Plug connection for lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter
q   for engines with engine identification characters AEG, APK, AQY - 4-pin
q   for engines with identification characters AZH - 6-pin
q   black
q   for lambda probe -G39- upstream of catalytic converter and lambda probe heater upstream of catalytic converter -Z19-
q   Fitting location → Item
22 - Bottom part of intake manifold
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
23 - Fuel rail with injection valves
q   disassemble and assemble bottom part of intake manifold → Chapter
24 - Fuel return-flow line
q   blue
q   secure with spring strap clamps
q   Check fitting position
q   to fuel delivery unit in fuel tank → 2.0 ltr./85 kW Engine, Mechanics → Rep. Gr.20
25 - Fuel feed line
q   black
q   from fuel filter → 2.0 ltr./85 Engine, Mechanics → Rep. Gr.20
26 - Gasket
q   replace if damaged
q   Check fitting position
27 - To crankcase vent valve
28 - Air intake hose
