The engine control unit -1- communicates with the ABS control unit -2- and the gearbox control unit -3- over the CAN databus. |
These control units are interlinked by a databus line (CAN High and CAN Low) and exchange information (messages). |
If information is not received over the databus this is detected both by the engine control unit as well as by other control units as a fault (e.g. by the ABS control unit). |
A terminating resistance of 66 Ω is required for the CAN databus to operate properly. Such a resistance is integrated in the engine control unit. |
