Operation
Operation
The engine control unit -1- communicates with the ABS control unit -2- and the gearbox control unit -3- over the CAN databus.
These control units are interlinked by a databus line (CAN High and CAN Low) and exchange information (messages).
If information is not received over the databus this is detected both by the engine control unit as well as by other control units as a fault (e.g. by the ABS control unit).
A terminating resistance of 66 Ω is required for the CAN databus to operate properly. Such a resistance is integrated in the engine control unit.
