Actuator diagnosis
Actuator diagnosis
With the actuator diagnosis the following parts are activated in the sequence indicated:
1. Set the volume of the radio higher
2. Reset the volume of the radio
3. Search for the following station
4. Search for the previous station
5. Horn activation (only for 1 J0907487 A)
  Note
If a fault is detected during the actuator diagnosis, the multi-functional steering wheel control unit must be replaced.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552 -
t  Diagnostic cable -V.A.G 1551/3, 3A, 3B oder 3C-
Perform self-diagnosis:
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with corresponding cable, select the address word 16 “Steering wheel electronics” and confirm with the key Q.
–  Enter function 03 and confirm with the key Q.
   
Readout on display:
The volume is set higher for 3 seconds.
–  Press → key.

Radio louder
Readout on display:
The volume is reset for 3 seconds.
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
Radio quieter
Readout on display:
Search for the next station.
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
Station finding forward
Readout on display:
Search for the previous station.
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
Station finding backward
Readout on display:
The horn is switched on for 0.5 sec.
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
Horn activation - H
Readout on display:
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
End
Readout on display:
–  End output (function 06) → Chapter.
