Actuator diagnosis
Actuator diagnosis
  Note
t  The actuator diagnosis can only be performed when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is not running!
t  If a fault is detected during the actuator diagnosis, the dash panel insert must be replaced!
  Note
Depending on the country version, the display is shown in the country-specific unit.
Perform self-diagnosis:
–  Connect the vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- and select the address word 17 “Dash panel insert”; ignition is switched on → Chapter.
   
Readout on display:
–  Enter the function 03 “Actuator diagnosis” and confirm the entry with the key Q.

Readout on display:
The pointer of the rev counter moves across the full range and then indicates approx. 3000.
–  Press key.

The pointer of the coolant temperature gauge moves across the full range and then moves to the halfway point.

The pointer of the fuel gauge moves across the full range and then moves to the halfway point.

The pointer of the speedometer moves across the full range and then indicates approx. 100.

All the segments of the display in the speedometer and in the rev counter are actuated and become visible.

The glow period warning light -K29- lights up (only on diesel engines).

The coolant temperature/low coolant level warning light comes on.
