Disassembling and assembling the evaporator housing (manual control)
Disassembling and assembling the evaporator housing (manual control)
–  Disassembling and assembling the air conditioning unit → Chapter
   
1 - Top part evaporator housing
t  Assembling the evaporator housing → Fig.
t  Check the gasket at the suction channel, replace if damaged (it seals the suction channel to the passenger compartment)
2 - Fresh air flap and re-circulating air flap control motor -V154-
t  Inspect proper operation → Chapter
t  removing and installing → Chapter
3 - Screw
4 - Fresh/re-circulating air flap
5 - Evaporator housing - bottom part
t  Assembling the evaporator housing → Fig.
6 - Fresh air blower -V2-
t  removing and installing → Chapter
7 - Fresh air blower series resistor - N24-
t  removing and installing → Chapter
8 - Evaporator
t  Install seal on the refrigerant lines of the evaporator → Fig.
t  Installing the seal on the evaporator → Fig.
9 - Seal
t  Install seal on the refrigerant lines of the evaporator → Fig.
10 - Seal
t  replace
t  Installing the seal on the evaporator housing → Fig.
t  seals the connecting area of the refrigerant lines to the engine compartment
11 - “O”-ring seal
t  removing and installing → Chapter
12 - “O”-ring seal
t  removing and installing → Chapter
13 - Threaded plate
14 - Expansion valve
t  Removing and installing the refrigerant lines → Chapter
t  removing and installing → Chapter
t  Remove and install heat-protection insulation → Chapter
15 - Screw
t  Tightening torque: 8 Nm

   
Assembling the evaporator housing
–  Both housing halves must be screwed together at the provided screw points -B- with suitable screws -A-.
  Note
The provided screw points -B- are over the entire circumference.

Install seal on the refrigerant lines of the evaporator
–  The refrigerant lines -C- must be sealed with the seal -A- on both housing halves -B-.

Installing the seal on the evaporator
–  The evaporator -A- must be sealed at the top and on both sides with the gasket -B- of the evaporator housing.
  Note
No gasket must be present on the bottom side of the evaporator (so that the condensation water can drain off).

–  Replace the gasket -A- and pay attention to the correct fitting of the evaporator connection flange.
