–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with diagnostic cable -V.A.G 1551/3A- when the ignition is switched off.
–  Select address word 22 for “four-wheel electronics” when the ignition is switched on.
–  Select function 08 for “read measured value block”.
Gearbox up to 09.99
–  Select display group number 001.

Readout on display:
The third display field indicates the oil temperature.
Gearbox as of 10.99
–  Select display group number 002.
 
Reading measured value block 1                      ->
00000000     00000000    36 °C    11.7 V
Readout on display:
The second display field indicates the oil temperature.
Continued for all gearboxes
l  The oil temperature must be between 20 and 40 °C.
The oil temperature can be reached by warming up the engine.
–  Place the catch pan beneath.
 
Reading measured value block 2                      ->
11.7 V                             36 °C
–  Unscrew drain plug -arrow- and completely drain oil.
–  Insert cartridge with 0.25 litres of oil into the hand pressure gun, e.g. -V.A.G 1628-.
–  Have drain plug available with new gasket.
  N39-0818
–  Insert hand pressure gun, e.g. -V.A.G 1628- vertically into the drain hole -arrow-.
–  Pump the entire oil into the Haldex coupling.
–  Put down the hand pressure gun -V.A.G 1628- and screw the drain plug with a new gasket immediately into the drain hole.
Tightening torque
  N39-0819
Drain plug in housing15 Nm
