Removing –  Remove air filter → Engine → Rep. Gr.23 or → Engine → Rep. Gr.24.

–  Remove balancing weight -A- and shift cable -B- of gearbox shift lever. –  Remove shift cable with washer and square nut (self-locking). –  Detach selector cable from driver/relay lever -C-, to do so raise lug in direction of arrow.

–  Disconnect the cable support from the gearbox -arrows-, if necessary first unclip tube-hose line at cable support.

–  Pull out the collar for the shift lever towards the top -arrow-.

–  Open warm-type clamp -arrow- and remove gearshift knob together with the cover. –  Remove sound absorption, if present.

–  Now unscrew fixing nuts attaching the shift housing -arrows-.

–  Release clamping sleeve -arrow A- and separate the exhaust system. –  Remove the cross member -B- below the exhaust system. –  Loosen the heat shield -C- in the front area. –  Remove heat shield -D-. –  Release both lower fixing screws for the shift housing. –  Lower shift housing and pull out complete with cables to the rear.
