Checking the non-return valve of the fuel delivery unit
Checking the non-return valve of the fuel delivery unit
Test conditions
l  Pressure gauge -V.A.G 1318- connected
l  Remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- with adapter cable -V.A.G 1348/3-2- connected
  Note
This test simultaneously checks the tightness of the connections of the fuel feed line from the fuel delivery unit through to the connecting point of the pressure gauge -V.A.G 1318-.

–  Close shut-off cock on measuring device in position -B-.
–  Activate the remote control with short pauses in between until a pressure of approx. 0.3 MPa (3.0 bar) is built up.
  WARNING
Danger of liquid spraying out when opening the shut-off cock; hold a container in front of the free connection of the pressure gauge.
–  If required, reduce the pressure which has become too high by carefully opening the shut-off cock.
–  Observe pressure drop at pressure gauge:
l  The pressure must not drop below 0.25 MPa (2.5 bar) after 10 minutes.
If the pressure still drops:
–  Test fuel line for tightness.
If no leaks are found in the fuel line:
–  Replace fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
