Removing and installing parts of the fuel supply - Part 2 > < Electronic Engine Power Control (Electronic throttle)

Roomster 16/77 kW MPI Engine Fuel Supply - Activated Charcoal Container System

Check fuel tank ventilation
Check fuel tank ventilation
For engine with identification characters BTS
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hand vacuum pump, e.g. -VAS 6213-
Test condition
l  The ignition must be switched off.
–  Remove the ventilation line -1- from the activated charcoal filter on the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80--2-.
   
–  Connect hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to vent line -1- as shown.
–  Operate the hand vacuum pump several times. No vacuum should build up.
If a vacuum builds up.
–  Check the ventilation opening -4- on the activated charcoal filter -3- for dirt and clean as required.
If no vacuum builds up:
  S20-0368
–  Shut off ventilation opening -arrow- on the activated charcoal filter and once again operate the hand vacuum pump several times. A vacuum should build up.
If no vacuum builds up:
–  Replace activated charcoal filter.
For engine with identification characters CFNA
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hand vacuum pump, e.g. -VAS 6213-
Test condition
l  The ignition must be switched off.
–  Remove the ventilation line -1- from the activated charcoal filter on the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80--2-.
  N20-10239
–  Connect hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to vent line -1- as shown.
–  Operate the hand vacuum pump several times. No vacuum should build up.
If a vacuum builds up.
–  Check the ventilation opening below the cover -4- on the activated charcoal filter -3- for dirt, clean as required.
If no vacuum builds up:
  S20-0364
–  Remove the cover -4- and shut off the ventilation opening on the activated charcoal filter and once again operate the hand vacuum pump several times. A vacuum should build up.
If no vacuum builds up:
–  Replace activated charcoal filter.
