Repair of CAN databus lines
Repair of CAN databus lines
  Note
t  Observe the general instructions for the repair on the vehicle electrics → Chapter.
t  Observe the general instructions for the wiring loom and plug repair → Chapter.
   
An unshielded two-wire cable -1- and -2- with a cross-section of 0.35 mm2 or 0.5 mm2 is used as a CAN bus line.
The colour codings of the CAN bus lines are given in the following table:
  N97-0261
CAN High line, driveorange/black
CAN High line, comfortorange/green
CAN High line, infotainmentorange/purple
CAN - Low - line, allorange/brown

t  Both databus lines must have the same length when undertaking repair work. The stroke length of -A- = 20 mm must be respected when the cables -1- and -2- are twisted.
t  Thus, there must be no cable piece (in the area of the welding connectors -arrow-) longer than -B- = 50 mm without twisting the cables.
