Disassembling and assembling ATF supply > < Removing and installing oil pan
Removing and installing oil pan (gearbox assembled)

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208-
Removing the oil pan
  Note
Observe the general repair instructions → Chapter.
–  Remove the sound dampening system → Body work; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Place the catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208- underneath.
   
–  Remove drain plug -arrow-.
–  Drain the ATF.
–  Loosen the oil pan screws alternately, and take out the oil pan.
Installing the oil pan
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following:
The drain plug with gasket ring must always be replaced → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
–  Clean all the magnets in the oil pan beads. Take care that the full surface of the magnets rests against the oil pan.
–  Fit the oil pan with a new seal.
–  Tighten the oil pan screws alternately, in several stages.
–  Fill with ATF and check and top up ATF level → Chapter.
