t  Interrogate the fault memory of the automatic gearbox control unit -J217- before the start of the fault finding → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  Additionally interrogate the fault memory of the engine control unit, as error messages of the engine control unit can lead to malfunctions of the gearbox → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  Check the ATF level → Chapter before the start of the fault finding.
