Draining the torque converter

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Oil aspirator unit, for example -V.A.G 1358 A-

t	Oil aspiration probe, for example -V.A.G 1358 A/1-

If the ATF has been contaminated with metal abrasion, or if the gearbox has had a major overhaul, the torque converter should be drained as follows:

–	Drain off the ATF from the torque converter using an oil aspiration unit, for example -V.A.G 1358 A- and oil aspiration probe, for example -V.A.G 1358 A/1-.
