Install grooved ball bearing for drive shaft

Fitting position of grooved ball bearing:

The closed side of the cage for the balls points to the gearbox housing.

–	Then push the new grooved ball bearing onto the drive shaft.

–	Drive the grooved ball bearing into the gearbox housing up to the stop with insertion tube -32-109 (MP3-485)-.

–	The circlip -arrow- in front of the grooved ball bearing then has to be installed.

Note

If necessary pull the input shaft out of the gearbox housing by hand up to the stop, in order to be able to correctly insert the circlip.

–	Before installing, moisten the new O-ring -arrow- with gearbox oil and insert into the round slot of the gearbox housing.

–	Fill half the space between the sealing lip and dust lip of the gasket ring in the guide bushing with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1 -.

–	Lightly lubricate the outer circumference of the guide bushing.

l	A thin insulating hose or shrink hose is pulled onto the gearing of the drive shaft.

–	Push the guide bushing -2- over the drive shaft up to the stop into the gearbox housing.

–	Remove insulation hose or shrink hose.

–	Fit on locking plate -1-.

–	Clean the thread of the screws -arrows- with a wire brush. Then insert bolts with locking agent -AMV 185 101 A1- and tighten to tightening torque.

–	Insert the intermediate piece -3- in the gearbox housing.

–	Before installing the clutch release lever -3-, the contact recess for the clutch slave cylinder tappet must be lubricated thinly with copper paste.

–	Install the clutch release lever -3- with the release bearing -4-.

–	Clean the thread of the screw -1- with a wire brush.

–	Fit the leaf spring -2- onto the screw -1-.

–	Tighten insert the bolt -1- with locking agent -AMV 185 101 A1- and tighten to tightening torque.
