Turn adjusting bolt to adjust belt tension.

Note: The belt tightens when the bolt is turned clockwise and vice versa.

Tighten lock nut.

Tightening torque: 34 - 44 N-m (3.5 - 4.5 kg-m, 25 - 33 ft-lb)

After adjusting belt tension, turn adjusting bolt counterclockwise to lock.

Tightening torque: 4 - 6 N-m (0.4 - 0.6 kg-rn, 2.9 - 4.3 ft-lb)

Note: When replacing belt with a new one, adjust its tension to the specification, then readjust it to the same specification after running engine for
5 minutes in consideration of its initial expansion.

16. Tighten water pump pulley mounting bolts.
