Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
Rear
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove rear wheels.
3.
Remove bearing cap.
4.
On all except 4WD, flatten lock washer, then remove axle nut, lock washer and lock plate. Discard lock washer.
5.
On 4WD models, remove cotter pin and castle nut.
6.
On models equipped with disc brakes, unfasten caliper assembly and position aside.
7.
On all models, remove hub and drum or hub and rotor assembly.
8.
Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. On all except 4WD, install hub using new lock washer. Adjust wheel bearing as described previously.
b. On 4WD, Refer to Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Specifications.
