Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair
Master Cylinder Bleeding

    Brake fluid is extremely damaging to paint. If fluid should accidentally touch painted surface, immediately wipe fluid from paint and clean
painted surface.

    On Sidekick models, when the master cylinder hydraulic system has been opened in any way, the master cylinder must be bled before system
bleeding can be done.

1.

Fill master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid. Wait for at least 1 minute before proceeding.

2.

Disconnect brake line from primary (rear brakes) side.

With discharge port opened, depress brake pedal gradually. With discharge port closed with finger, release brake pedal gradually and keep it
closed for about 5 seconds before depressing brake pedal again. Do not lift finger off port while releasing brake pedal as air will be drawn
into master cylinder.

4.

Repeat step 3 until liquid comes out of discharge port. Repeat step 3 at least 4 more times, then connect primary side brake pipe.

5.

Disconnect 2 brake lines from secondary (front brakes) side.

6.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 keeping fingers over both open ports.

7.

Connect brake lines to secondary side.
