    Refer to Fig. 5 when performing the following procedure.

1.

Relieve pressure in fuel system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF.

2.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.

3.

Remove air intake pipe, then disconnect accelerator cable and transmission throttle cable from throttle body, if equipped.

4.

Disconnect electrical connectors, ground wires and hoses as necessary.

5.

Disconnect fuel feed hose joint, using a back-up wrench while loosening flare nut, then fuel return hose from pipe.

6.

Remove generator adjustment arm stiffener, intake manifold stiffener, No. 1 stiffener and No. 2 stiffener with EGR modulator.

7.

Remove intake manifold with surge tank and throttle body from cylinder head.

8.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
b. Adjust accelerator and transmission throttle cable play.
c. Ensure there is no fuel, water or exhaust gas leakage.
