INTERMITTENT RADIO / DVD / NAVIGATION SCREEN OPERATION WITH POSSIBLE DTCS STORED
MODEL(S): XL7 (JC636)
YEAR: 2007~
CONDITION:
Rear DVD screen blank/inoperative, speaker popping noise, radio display flashing ON and OFF, Nav screen flashing ON and OFF, radio operates for 5
to 10 minutes then turns OFF by itself, after 20 minutes it will reactivate for a short time.
CAUSE:
This condition may be due to shorted wiring harness, specifically the white (WH) antenna/amplifier enable wire.
CORRECTION:
DO NOT REPLACE THE RADIO without confirming the harness condition. Always check for DTCs when diagnosing any radio operation problem.
Follow service manual diagnostic information for any specific DTC listed. In relation to the above symptom, there are four areas to focus on for radio
inoperative when described as "intermittent". for NON-DVD (Dual Play) radios, follow the steps in # 1 and # 4 below. For DVD (Dual Play) equipped
models, follow the steps in # 1, # 2, # 3, and # 4 below.

For all radio types. Check for a pinched wire at the passenger front door sill trim (carpet retainer) and at the "B" pillar lower trim (lower trim clip).
