HOOD PROTECTOR WHISTLING NOISE

'96 - '97 4Runner

Introduction 
There is a potential for a whistling noise on 1996 and 1997 4Runners with hood protectors (P/N 00500-89960), due to the size of the front air slots. To
eliminate this noise, the slots have been removed in production of hood protectors from May 1, 1997.

The information in this bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin AX003-96, "96 4RUNNER HOOD PROTECTOR WHISTLING NOISE
CONCERN" dated 8/30/96.

NOTE:

The manufacturing date code can be found on the part number label on the underside of the hood protector.

Affected Vehicles

1996 and 1997 4Runner equipped with optional hood protector P/N 00500-89960.
