Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

1.
Remove engine under cover.
2.
On CV series vehicles, remove center engine mounting member as follows:
a. Remove 2 plugs.
b. Remove 4 bolts from front and rear mounts.
c. Remove 4 bolts and center engine mounting member.
3.
On all models, remove stabilizer bar brackets from body structure, Fig. 8.
4.
Disconnect stabilizer bar end from lower arm on one side.
5.
Remove lower control arm on other side.
6.
Remove stabilizer bar, spacer, cushion and collar.
7.
Install stabilizer bar end on lower control arm on one side and finger tighten nut.
8.
Pry stabilizer bar forward and install bracket. Torque bolts to 83 ft. lbs. (113 Nm).
9.
Install lower control arm on one side.
10.
Torque stabilizer bar nut to 86 ft. lbs. (117 Nm).
11.
On CV series vehicles, install center engine mounting member as follows:
a. Install center engine mount bolts and torque to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
b. Install front and rear mounts with bolts. Torque bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
c. Install 2 plugs.
12.
On all models, install engine under cover.
13.
Check front wheel alignment.
